I am extremely honored to officially welcome all Southern University and A&M College and Prairie View A&M University Football Fans to the 2012 Shreveport Classic!
This promises to be an exciting display of gridiron skills between two historic institutions. And I can’t think of a better place to showcase such an event than at Independence Stadium in beautiful Shreveport, Louisiana, on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
As Mayor, please know that the City of Shreveport is both proud and humbled to host an event that highlights not only two outstanding college football teams but also two of the best marching bands in the country.
I sincerely thank the Administration, Staff, and Athletic Departments of these historic and nationally recognized universities for their commitment to unite in partnership with the City of Shreveport to bring the very best college football pageantry to our city and region.
The Shreveport Classic is happening during our Louisiana State Fair, so your game ticket entitles you to enjoy the game, the Fair, and a free celebration concert after the game.
